WCCU Welcomes Director of Business Lending

Westerly Community Credit Union (WCCU) is pleased to announce that Richard Champ joined their team as Director of Business Lending. He is responsible for credit, sales, and directing all activities of the Business Lending Department. 

Champ received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and his Commercial Lending Certification from the University of RI. He has over 29 years of experience in the banking industry, starting with Fleet back in 1993. Champ was previously an AVP, Commercial Portfolio Manager at Berkshire Bank, with an office in Westerly and Portsmouth, RI. He grew up in Stonington, CT, and currently lives in Westerly with his wife, Karen Champ, and two daughters, Hannah and Maya.

He is very active in the community. He volunteers for the WARM Center and Johnnycake Center of Westerly. He also previously coached the Westerly Girls’ Softball team and volunteered for local PTOs. One fun fact about him is he has been a New England Patriots Season Ticket Holder for 28 years!
